Information for the Article/Interview

In order to write the article feature in my double page spread, I interviewed Mel about her musical interests. Here are the following facts about her as an artist below:

• Musical interest started for her when Mel was young. She got inspired from going to see musicals. This then lead to performing in school plays with her twin sister Lucy.
• She was brought up in a family where they encouraged music, drama, art and creativity.
• Mel started guitar lessons when she was thirteen (at the same time her twin sister Lucy started piano lessons). She felt like the competitive aspect made them both better as artists.
• Mel is currently writing her own musical, as well as screenplays and short films.
• She started uploading YouTube videos of her singing regularly about a year ago, although there are some videos on other channels from when she was thirteen with her sister Lucy.
• Her first gig was at Ramsgate Music Halls.
• She taught herself ukulele.
• 'Mel' is short for Melodie-"I was named after music and that's what I love."
• Wrote a song called "Ghost"- about a break-up.
